A Level Art

Art is an extremely exciting, demanding, fulfilling course. Students are encouraged to develop individual work, through studying with practising artists, visiting exhibitions, growing in knowledge and understanding the art world, past and present. Students will practise a variety of skills through workshops such as drawing, painting and printmaking. Project titles which students have been exploring over the past two years include: “What is Art”, “Journeys” and “Growth and Evolution”

What can this course lead to? 

Vocational Courses such as graphics, beauty and hairdressing as well as:

  • Foundation Interior Courses
  • Degrees in all Art and Design and Fine Art courses
  • Architecture

Methods of Assessment

60% coursework, 40% examination. All work is internally assessed and externally moderated for both AS and A levels

C Grade at GCSE Art.
