A Level ICT
This course provides an understanding of the fundamentals of ICT and the knowledge and skills suitable for participation in an evolving ICT dependent society.
ICT provides opportunities to be at the forefront of these changes and for students, through their careers, to play a role in the dynamic, ICT - based society of the future. This course will give you a thorough understanding of the main software applications and their use in the workplace.
What can this course lead to?
You will learn a wide range of transferable skills including collecting, analysing and interpreting data, communicating your findings in different ways (using a range of software), planning, research, evaluation of ICT solutions and systems. This course provides a suitable foundation for the study of the subject or related subjects at further or higher education (including studying computer related courses at University); and provides students with a range of useful skills that can be used in many areas of employment, including working in ICT.

UNIT 1 [AS] Using ICT to Communicate: Producing a range of business documents using a variety of software.
UNIT 2 [AS] How Organisations use ICT: Understanding how ICT is used in Business situations.
UNIT 3 [A2] ICT Solutions for Individuals and Society: Collecting and analysing data from the Internet and other sources.
UNIT 4 [A2] Choice of 2 Optional Units including Web Design, Desk Top Publishing and a compulsory group project.
