GCSE Short Course Religious Education

Why study this course?

This course is followed by ALL students who do not choose Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics) as a GCSE option subject. It has the same aims as the full GCSE course, but only covers some of the content.

What content is covered? [Exam Board: OCR]

RE Short Course is a thought provoking introduction to contemporary religions, moral and philosophical issues.

How will I be assessed?

Ethics 1—Religion and Human Relationships, Medical Ethics and Poverty and Wealth.

Philosophy 2—Science and Religion, good and evil, religion, reason and revelation.

The course is assessed by examination at the end of Year 11. The resulting qualification is known as a GCSE Short Course in RE.
