Hockey Success - East Devon Champions

On Tuesday 7th March our Under 13 A team played in the prestigious East Devon Tournament at Colyton. 6 teams were in contention for the title and King's beat Sidmouth 2-0, Cullompton 2-0 and last year’s winners, Exmouth 3-1 (with Martha Raffell scoring a hatrick!) to secure themselves a place in the final against Colyton. King's went 1-0 up early on in the game but Colyton retaliated in the second half to take it to 1-1 at full time. The game went to golden goal for 5 minutes after which it still remained 1-1 and so resorted to penalty flicks. After a tense few flicks with goals scored by Macy Parsons and captain Lydia Gammon it was sudden death. Amy Davies made the winning save in goal to crown the team East Devon Champions! An exceptionally exciting competition that rivaled Team GB's penalty shoot out for the gold medal in Rio!! Very well done to all who took part.
