Sixth Form Admissions

We offer an open entry policy to all our post-16 A level courses. Students must attain at least 5 C grades or above at GCSE ideally including English and Maths too and have the capacity to be able to achieve on the courses they wish to study. Students also need to attain the minimum entry requirements in each AS subject they wish to study in Y12 – details of which are on the subject pages within the Sixth Form prospectus.

Students from other schools including those from outside The King’s School catchment area are welcome to apply. We hold an open evening in November where further details of subjects that are available can be found and where you can register interest in applying for Sixth Form places.

Application forms are available in January for both internal and external applicants. All students have an options discussion with the Head of Sixth Form or Deputy Head of Sixth Form.

Letters offering places and confirming option choices are sent before Easter. Students usually attend our induction day held at the end of June after GCSE exams finish, and then formally enrol on GCSE results day or before term starts in September.

Sixth Form Open Evening was held on Thursday 24th November 2016.  If you would like a tour around the school please contact Julie Miller on 01404 812982
