Business & Computer Science

Mrs C White
Head of Business and Computer Science

The Business and Computer Science department aims to develop confident Business, IT and Computer Science students who are prepared for the world of work. We aim to develop students' digital literacy, entrepreneurial and  problem solving skills to enable them to reach their full potential and enter further education or the workplace.

Our curriculum has been designed to develop these skills in a dynamic and engaging environment. Our lessons have high engagement and challenge as we use active teaching strategies which have impact. At Key Stage 3, groups are taught both Information Technology and Computer Science in fully mixed ability classrooms. This makes students digitally literate, regardless of their abilities or background, so they can become digital citizens of the world.

Students can then make an informed decision at the end of Year 9 for options. We offer GCSE and A level Business, BTEC Level 2 and 3 Digital Information Technology and GCSE and A level Computer Science. Extra curricular opportunities include Coding Club, GCSE Chocolate Biscuit Revision, and Lego Challenge club.
